Pulled Under

(no subject)

I've had Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for a long time now. Since it was released, in fact.

And I could NOT do it. I stank at it. I died so many deaths it was becoming depressing. The learning curve was so incredibly steep I kept slipping backwards down it again.

So I put it away and didn't play it again.

When I picked up The Two Thrones, I was expecting more of the same... not something as enjoyable and playable as it is.

But I'm murderously, horribly stuck on the second chariot race and I was getting really angry.

So I had a bash at WW again, expecting to get really, really angry... again.

So... why can I do it?! Ahahah... I stank so badly at it and now I'm further in a couple of hours than I was in a couple of week's play before... and with no need for a walkthrough so far!

I guess the fact the control system's similarities - not to mention Two Thrones' more forgiving learning curve - have made life a little easier for me now. But it comes to something when you have to play the sequel to learn to play the previous game! XD

Liking it a lot more now.

(Still pretty dribbly over the Prince too, even if all I can think of is Halo whenever he speaks...)
Naked Owen! ^_____^

It's only taken about 16 years for me to do this in a half-decent way, but...

I actually did Flashback fanart. o.O

The problem lies with the fact that Conrad has stupid hair. Way before Cloud had evil, hard-to-draw hair, Conrad had already managed it. Mind, this is also the same guy who was smart enough to realise that aliens were living among us, yet was dim enough to actually get CAUGHT by them and shipped off to Titan. Idiot.

Now... I have a slight favour to ask anyone who's ever played Flashback... (To my knowledge that's... er... Danny! *grins* We can't be the only ones... can we?) I need a reference for Ian, as you might be able to guess. I know he's the 'generic background human to be used all of once in a quest' model, but all I have right now is my memory of the sprite to go off. I can only really remember 'blue shirt' and 'darker blue pants'.

And you can't see Ian's eyes for the sheer fact that... well... I have this sneaking suspicion that he's a lying bastard. I can't put my finger on it exactly - it might be something to do with the way he vanishes mysteriously, or that he was stupid enough to get himself caught, or perhaps to do with the fact that he never really seemed interested in actively searching Conrad out... or maybe because the fact that you found him, protected by alien guards, right where the memory machine was seemed WAY too much of a coincidence... I never, ever trusted him.

I'm still trying to think precisely what he might have been doing... but still. No faith. Whatsoever.

*ahem*

It's oddly nice to draw fanart for a game I've not played in years. ^_^; ...I need a decent bit of emulator software and a ROM so I can play it again.

I LOVE that game.

(I just can't be arsed to set up the Amiga and dig out the disk box to play it 'properly'... You don't realise how blessed we are in this day and age with our consoles until you embark on an Amiga disk-swapping marathon.)
